This is a
picture of a foggy morning of Chatham Strait. From all of our reading, we expected
every day in Alaska to be like this. We have been really lucky to have so many blue
skies. |

The Captain took
us into Red Bluff Inlet. Here he is showing off his skills by nosing the boat into a
water fall. Because of the spring melt the waterfalls are very dramatic. The
guy in the red jacket is the officer assigned to watching the passengers when we are
allowed on the bow. He has orders not to let anyone reenact the 'King of the World'
scene from Titanic. |

To keep us
amused on a foggy day, we had a brunch instead of lunch. Here is Noreen pouring the
Mimosas! |

We passed this
Stellar Sea Lion haul out on Brothers Island. These sea lions are not birthing pups
so we were able to get really close to them. A number of them swam out to check out
the boat. We even saw a group of them 'rafting'. They form a tight group
called a raft when they are swimming in open waters. |

Karen got this picture of humpback whale in Frederick Sound. The Captain zigzagged
around most of the afternoon to be sure we would have an opportunity to see more
whales. The line through the picture is a rope on the ship. You can see some
notches in the flukes.

This picture was taken without any
kind of filter. This is really just how blue the light was coming through the
clouds. We had a nice 'sucker hole' right over the ship throughout dinner and got
some nice pictures as the sun went behind the clouds. It does seem to be getting a
little darker at night as we move further south. |
