Phase II of the build up of Bulter
County's proposed Multi-Site Simulacast County Wide 800 MHz Motrorola
P-25 Trunked Radio System (TRS)
is underway as construction of tower sites has begun. Eventually
the system will be merged with the current Oxford P-25 system
and West Chester Township Smartnet system. These frequencies will be added to the system to build the County Wide system, they
are currently licensed by Butler County, but will be changed when Ohio reaches its rebanding stage.

This system will be managed by the Butler County Emergency Management Agency, more information
can be found at: http://www.butlercountyohio.org/ema/index.cfm?page=downloads
While officials are pushing for a May 2008 completion date, a more realistic time frame would be the first quarter of 2009.
Here is the current radio system in use by Butler County:

BUTLER COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE UNIT NUMBERS
When an employee is hired by the Sheriff's Office they are issued a a four digit number. This number is unique to the individual and stays with them no matter where in the department they work. The designator in front of the number indicates what part of the department they work in. For example: if your number is 1124 and you are assigned as a road deputy then your complete designation is Robert 1124 (R1124), when 1124 works an off duty detail they will be XRAY 1124 (X1124). Numbers range from 1001 and up. This represents the employee/badge number.
In the past numbers were listed as
they were heard on the radio, since this is constantly changing and
hard
to keep updated, only the designator is listed.
