Space Empires IV: Ideas & Suggestions

Greetings –

It has been far too long since I updated this page, for which I extend my humblest apologies. I'm back now though, and as the saying goes, "Better late than never," yes?

Many of you have written to encourage me to keep this page, so I will. However…

There have been some developments at Malfador since I first put this page up. We now have some idea of what to expect in SE4. In light of that new information, much of what was previously posted here now seems irrelevant. (My own desire for a hex-based grid, for example.)

Furthermore, my original intention had been that we would not only make suggestions, but actually provide graphic examples to illustrate our ideas. (Hence, all those nifty pictures I made.) Unfortunately, almost no one did that, and instead just sent descriptions of their ideas (and more often than not, those ideas were pretty vague).

That's fine, mind you, even if it's not quite what I wanted. It's a lot of work for me to put all those messages on the site though, and there are easier ways to distribute the ideas. Here is the one I decided on…

Over there in the Navigation Bar, you'll see two buttons from OneList. If you click the Join List button, you'll go to a page where you can subscribe to the SE4 Mailing List. Once you've done so, you will be able to send and receive E-mail through the list. If you send an idea to the list, all the other subscribers get a copy.

Note that you don't have to subscribe if all you want to do is read the ideas/suggestions. That's what the Archives button is for. Click it, and you'll be taken to a page where you can read all the list's messages.

I think this might be a better way of doing things. However, if you have another idea on how best to handle this site, by all means let me know!
