Welcome to The Yankee Grey HQ

Well, for anybody who doesn't already know, Yankee Grey is a country music band that is really like no other. Their upbeat songs like "Untamed" are balanced out with great slow songs like "There's Only One." Their newest disk "Untamed" and their singles "All Things Considered," "Another Nine Minutes," and "This Time Around," which are already on Billboard, are the best way to experience this new sound so go check it out.

April 14, 2001  Bassist, Dave Buchanan, Takes Hobby to New Level

Dave has been taking advantage of some of the band's planned down time and is learning to pilot small aircraft.  "It's always been a dream of mine to learn to fly," said Dave. "It's been great so far, more than I ever expected.  I can't believe I am finally out there doing it!"  This past weekend, Dave did more than just take an average lesson, he completed his first solo flight.  "It was absolutely incredible," he said.  "It can be a little nerve wracking at first, but then it just comes naturally."

April 12, 2001  Wrapping up Western Tour

YG just returned home after completing a 3-week tour of  California and Nevada.  The tour included stints in Victorville, CA. and Las Vegas Nevada.  The tour was a big success and even held a few surprises.  While on tour with the George Strait Festival in Las Vegas, Lonestar's Richie McDonald and Dean Sams  dropped in to catch YG's show at Boulder Station.  "We've run into the guys in Lonestar a few times out on the road," said Joe, "and we always have a great time.  I'm glad they made the trip out to see us."

Also catching the show was rock guitarist, Mark Kendall of Great White.  It seems Mark's wife is a big fan of Yankee Grey and convinced him to bring the whole family to YG's show in Irvine, CA.  "It was great to meet Mark and his family," said Matt.  "Great White has some really good music, in fact my wife has some of their albums.  So it was cool to meet a fellow guitarist."

Yankee Grey Performs at the Grand Ole Opry

YG was asked back for an encore performance at the Grand Ole Opry, Saturday, March 3rd.  While this was the second performance for most of the guys, it was the first for lead singer, Lyle Gudmunsen.  "What a thrill and an honor," he said.  "It was absolutely incredible to get up there and sing."  The band performed their tribute to Dale Earnhardt, Goodbye My Friend as well as their hit, Another Nine Minutes.  "The crowd loved the Dale Earnhardt song," said Jerry.  "It's a song with real feeling and Dale Earnhardt was so important to so many people."

Dale Earnhardt Memorial Service on broadcast.com

Yankee Grey performed at a public memorial service for Dale Earnhardt Sunday, February 25 at the Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville. They performed a new song, "Goodbye My Friend," as a tribute to the late King of Nascar.  To see a tape of the memorial service and YG's performance, go to broadcast.com.

Denny's Car Fund

Recently I, Denny Cottle, the webmaster of the YGHQ,
got a 1996 Camaro, but shortly
after this had
an accident that caused a significant amount
of damge to the car.
I am simply asking
that if anyone would like to help me get
this car back into shape, I would
so greatly
appreciate it!
Anyone who is interested
can send me an email at dcottle@siscom.net.

Thanks.
